AUSTIN, Texas (KFDA) – Legislation by District 87 Representative Four Price is on its way to the governor’s desk. Both houses of the Texas Legislature overwhelmingly passed HB 1960, with the measure garnering 127 in favor to 14 opposed on Tuesday. The proposed bill would create a broadband council within the office of the governor. The council would discuss issues relating to access to broadband internet across the state, identifying barriers to access, as well as researching solutions to overcome them. Rep. Price said the bill would ensure to take feedback from diverse organizations, including those with interests in rural and agricultural areas. The council would then prepare a report of its findings and recommendations, to be presented to the governor, lieutenant governor and Texas legislature.
