Amarillo, Texas – Today, State Representative Four Price forwarded the official paperwork to the Republican Party of Texas to file for re-election for State Representative of House District 87. House District 87 consists of five Panhandle counties – Carson, Hutchinson, Moore, Potter and Sherman counties. Representative Price, in the short period of time he has served in the Texas House of Representatives, has risen to leadership roles on several key committees that enable him to successfully advocate for both his Panhandle constituents and the betterment of Texas.
“I love representing our conservative Panhandle values on the floor of the Texas House. I am pleased that many of our conservative goals have become law. My constituents expect results, not rhetoric. I plan to build on the results that are keeping the Texas’ economy strong. Specifically, by keeping our taxes low, guarding against a state income tax, continuing to reduce unnecessary regulation, strengthening our public schools through innovation and job training, protecting and strengthening access to rural healthcare, making sure we have enough water for Texas’ future, improving our state’s roadways, and enhancing our border security, we will continue to ensure that Texas remains the best state in our country to raise a family and do business.”
Representative Price currently serves on several key committees that provide him with the direct ability to influence decisions that shape our state’s balanced budget, improve our healthcare system, and provide state agency oversight. Price is a member of the powerful House Committee on Appropriations. On the Appropriations Committee, he chairs the Subcommittee on Article II – Health and Human Services. Also, Representative Price is chairman of the House Select Committee on Mental Health and co-chairs the Health & Human Services Commission Transition Legislative Oversight Committee.
