"Our great state, and specifically the Texas Panhandle, will see many opportunities and many challenges in the coming years. Effective, solutions-orientend and proven leadership is critical to our future success. I want to help shape our future by representing the 87th House District in the next legislature. Public safety, low taxes, education, agriculture, energy, water and health care will continue to be areas of priortiy for me. They are also areas which will demand true leadership in the next legislative session.

Today, I am exited to announce my intention to seek another term in the Texas House. I am asking the citizens of the 87th House District for their vote so that I may continue to represent them in Austin. If voters send me back to the Texas Capitol, I will continue my commitment to improving our area and our state with sensible solutions to the issues we face. Last session was very productive and successful. I authored many pieces of legislation that passed both chambers and were sent to Governor Abbott for his signature. Now, I look forward with optimism to continuing my work for the district in the 86th Texas Legislature."

The primary election is March 6, 2018 and the genral election will take lace on November 6, 2018.
